Academic Expert Program

Child and Adolescent Care

part-time

Child and Adolescent Care

Children and adolescents are a particularly vulnerable group of people with an increased need for protection and special care requirements. In addition to taking these requirements into consideration when dealing with young people, the creation of a sustainable basis in nursing work with families is an essential building block. The academic expert program is therefore based on the nursing concept of family-oriented care. Nurses in the higher service for health care and nursing who work or aspire to work in the special field of children and adolescents must complete a specialization in accordance with GuKG §17. In addition, the program in continuing education offers the opportunity to expand and consolidate knowledge of nursing science.

Program in continuing education in cooperation with the Vienna Healthcare Group

    Before the studies

You are interested in immersing yourself in a special professional field and want to deepen your nursing expertise with scientific skills in the special field of child and adolescent care with a particular focus on family-oriented care. You would like to sharpen your role in the interdisciplinary team as part of the nursing process and become an expert in age- and development-related needs in different settings. You pay great attention to the well-being of patients and see non-verbal communication as an essential basis for your patient support according to the motto: Knowing in good time where the problem lies without patients being able to express their needs in words. You also take into account the relationship with relatives and help families to influence health-related decision-making processes in a self-determined way.

Why you should study with us

    360° practical training

You will be learning in real-life situations right from the start: either with our cooperation partners or in our well-equipped functional rooms.

    Research in applied nursing

You will gain experience and learn from others in interdisciplinary research projects.

    Study with a future

Continue your basic education with unique continuing education opportunities for new career fields.
