Automation Technology Laboratory Hochschule Campus Wien

As part of the "Automation Technology Laboratory FH Campus Wien" project, a workshop laboratory and a laser sintering system were purchased with the support of the City of Vienna (MA23) and the expansion of the robotics laboratory was financed. In addition, Phoenix Contact GmbH has set up a state-of-the-art automation technology laboratory, the "Phoenix Contact Competence Centre". This means that a larger number of Bachelor's and Master's theses can be supervised.

The automation lab includes a workshop lab, a robotics lab, 3D printers and the Phoenix Contact Competence Centre. Students put their theoretical knowledge into practice in the following exercises:

• Handling technical components and assemblies
• Planning, assembly and configuration of system components
• Carrying out practical programming tasks and simulations
• Training in tasks and processes during the commissioning of systems and machines

In the workshop laboratory, students' basic training is deepened. It also provides the platform for the Formula Student Team, which builds and assembles a formula racing car there. In the robotics laboratory, research focuses on intelligent and intuitive programming of industrial robots. In the field of plastics technology, 3D printing processes are investigated and material properties researched.
