The first two semesters are dedicated to building a robust foundation in Strategic Management, Leadership, and Personality Development. This phase equips you with the essential toolkit required for future roles as General Managers, Department Heads, or Project and Product Managers. You will master critical business disciplines, including financial management and legal frameworks, while sharpening your leadership perspective. These semesters provide comprehensive skills needed to navigate complex corporate environments with confidence.
In the second half of the degree program, the focus shifts toward technical specialization. During the third semester, you will dive deep into your chosen elective—either Information Technology or Sustainable Energy and Environmental Technologies. This phase is designed to provide a high-level industrial overview, enabling you to manage technical innovation and expert teams.
The fourth semester serves to round off this technical expertise while prioritizing the Master’s Thesis. This scientific work requires students to address complex research questions through research analysis. We strongly encourage cooperation with your current employer, allowing you to solve real-world business challenges under academic supervision. Furthermore, students have the opportunity to participate in interdisciplinary research projects alongside colleagues from other departments. Highly motivated students are actively supported in publishing their findings in scientific journals and at conferences.
To meet its international ambitions, the degree program offers significant global mobility. The third and fourth semesters are ideal for study abroad experiences, ranging from full semesters at partner universities to intensive one-to-two-week international exchanges. This global outlook ensures that our students are perfectly prepared to lead in international companies and across diverse technical landscapes.
Projects should, in the practical world, always endeavor to benefit society and the environment. This is also the guideline for project selection in the degree program. In the Information Technology specialization field in the Technical Management master's degree program, the development of a system allowing highly parametrizable traffic simulation is planned, for instance. This project will allow a network of roads to be arbitrarily modeled, permitting addition and interaction of various road users. The complete system will allow for the inclusion all types of roads, crossings, traffic lights, footpaths, bikeways and trolley cars. Using a graphical user interface, experiments and surveys will be carried out to analyze existing and new traffic situations such as normal traffic, congestion, accidents or roadworks, and to examine potential counter-strategies such as detours or changing traffic light timing.
You will participate in the analysis of results and in finding answers to various traffic situations, to the benefit of road users.
Our individual options for further education within the framework of the degree program are your added value towards your career planning or finding a job. We can offer you certifications which are important to industry, such as PMA Project Management Austria or the Process Management Certificate.
For a detailed look at the degree program's focus and specific learning outcomes, we encourage you to explore the courses listed in our curriculum. The academic structure is clearly defined: the first two semesters are dedicated to mastering Management, Leadership, and Personality Development, providing you with a comprehensive executive toolkit. The third and fourth semesters then pivot toward your chosen technical specialization and the Master’s Thesis, allowing you to apply your leadership skills to high-level industrial challenges.
