Compact Continuing Education: Micro-Credentials for Modern Histopathology

Accurate diagnoses begin long before the actual evaluation of findings. From macroscopic tissue preparation to molecular analysis, specialized procedures form the foundation of modern histopathology diagnostics. With the micro-credentials offered by Hochschule Campus Wien, you can deepen your expertise in selected areas of histopathology and acquire skills that can be directly applied in diagnostic practice.
Whether in macroscopy or molecular pathology: These compact continuing education programs combine a scientific foundation with high practical relevance and enable targeted professional specialization.

Your benefits

  • specialized knowledge in histopathology

  • high practical relevance

  • can be credited toward the Academic Expert Program in Histopathology

    Micro-Credential: Molecular Pathology

Molecular techniques have fundamentally transformed oncologic diagnostics and now form the basis for many personalized treatment decisions. However, the analysis and interpretation of molecular biomarkers require not only technical expertise but also a thorough understanding of clinical contexts.

This micro-credential offers in-depth specialization in molecular pathology and covers the entire molecular pathology process chain—from the selection of appropriate analytical methods and quality-assured implementation to the interpretation and contextualization of results in oncology. The focus is on modern methods such as next-generation sequencing (NGS), PCR, in situ hybridization, and liquid biopsy, as well as their application in patient-centered diagnostics and treatment planning.

      Micro-Credential: Basic Macroscopy

Macroscopy forms the foundation of all histopathological diagnostics. Standardized tissue processing, precise documentation, and quality-assured workflows are crucial for the validity of all subsequent examinations. As methodological complexity increases, so do the demands on professionals working in the preanalytical process chain.

This micro-credential provides in-depth knowledge on the macroscopic evaluation of tissue samples and their significance for the diagnostic process. The focus is on the analysis of various specimens, standardized grossing techniques, and documentation and quality assurance procedures. Participants learn to implement macroscopic workflows in a transparent, quality-assured manner and in accordance with latest standards
