    During the studies

Hochschule Campus Wien (HCW) is now the largest university of applied sciences for nursing and health sciences in Austria. We were the first university of applied sciences in Austria to launch the bachelor's degree program Health Care and Nursing more than 15 years ago, and we have continuously built up a large network in the health sector. Our students benefit from this network and from our many years of teaching expertise. Our cooperation partners also include the University of Vienna, with which we collaborate as part of a teaching network.

Important educational partners include the Vienna Healthcare Group, the Vinzenz Group, and the Barmherzige Brüder, with whom we jointly offer the bachelor's degree program Health Care and Nursing.

With our master's programs (continuing education) Advanced Nursing Counseling, Advanced Nursing Education, and Advanced Nursing Practice (focus on nursing management) we cover a broad spectrum of advanced qualifications for the higher service for health care and nursing.

In addition to teaching, we are actively involved in research and development. R&D projects at the Center for Applied Nursing Research offer you the opportunity to learn about application-oriented research in practice.

The program in continuing education is designed so that you can continue to work while studying. This allows you to immediately transfer what you have learned to your field of practice.

The program has four main areas of focus:

    1. Gerontological health care and nursing
      • Focus areas: discourses on aging, integrated care models, quality of life in old age
    2. Psychogeriatric health care and nursing
      • Focus areas: psychosocial support, gerontological assessments, geriatric diseases
    3. Health promotion and prevention in a gerontological setting
      • Focus areas: health promotion and prevention in family, community, and in-patient settings, suicide and violence prevention
    4. Applied nursing science and nursing research
      • Focus areas: scientific work, qualitative and quantitative research, reflective practice

These modules integrate theoretical and practical learning methods and prepare you for a key role in geriatric health care and nursing.
