Project Duration: 01.04.2026 to 31.03.2029
One in seven people worldwide lives with a mental illness—most commonly depression and anxiety disorders. eRECOVER focuses on the CORE-5 disorders, which account for over 80% of the mental illnesses treated in routine care. The project aims to provide people with mental illness with easier access to high-quality primary mental health care close to home. At its core is a multilingual digital platform that uses adaptive questioning to facilitate coordinated treatment planning and provide accompanying digital therapy services. This marks the first time that the needs-based care model RECOVER, developed in Germany, has been extended to multiple European countries.
Hochschule Campus Wien is leading the ‘User Experience and Requirements’ work package and is making the platform suitable for use in routine care. To this end, the study team is coordinating needs assessments across the four participating countries: Switzerland, Spain, France and Austria. The study is investigating a digitally supported care pathway comprising screening, treatment planning, communication, monitoring and digital therapy options. The perspectives of patients and healthcare professionals are being directly incorporated into the platform’s development.
