Project duration: 1 October 2017 to 30 September 2019

FH Campus Wien offers 60 Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes as well as Master's courses in the Departments of Applied Life Sciences, Building and Design, Health Sciences, Nursing, Public Sector, Social Work and Engineering, and currently has around 5,800 students. The multidisciplinary portfolio is an important development potential of our university. In the future, interdisciplinary collaboration is to be further expanded through cross-departmental courses for students. Since autumn 2017, FH Campus Wien has been offering open courses that can be attended by students from all fields of study and which can be credited to all study programs.

As part of this project, the Section Packaging and Resource Management is developing a course entitled "Methods of waste prevention and resource conservation in the packaging sector", which will be held as part of these open courses. This is of particular interest to the Departments of Applied Life Sciences, Building and Design and Engineering, as the topic of waste prevention and resource conservation is not yet sufficiently anchored there. By offering the course as an open course, the methods and instruments for the resource-saving use of packaging materials are made accessible to a broad audience at FH Campus Wien (approx. 50 students/year) across all departments.

In addition, this project will develop a research catalogue that includes current and practice-relevant topics from the field of waste prevention and resource conservation. This research catalogue will be available for Bachelor's theses not only for students of the Sustainable Resource Management study program, but for all study programs at FH Campus Wien.
