This page contains automated translations.

Research duration: September 2017 to September 2019

The dementia app to be developed in this project is aimed primarily at family carers and is intended to reduce their burden on the one hand and significantly increase the quality and competence of care on the other, thus helping to maintain a high quality of life for patients and supervisors.

The dementia app will be used by approx. 30 people with dementia-related restrictions and their approx. 45 carers as test users and tested over a period of 3 months. A broad-based, longitudinal evaluation design is intended to map the effectiveness in multiple dimensions.

Project goals

  • Development of an app that offers individualised recommendations for everyday activities and exercises for people with dementia.
  • An integrated communication/planning platform to support the joint supervision of people with dementia by several relatives.
  • An information platform on dementia-related illnesses, treatment options and emergency measures, as well as information on preventing overload and burnout for family carers.
