Accompanying research on the amif project “Network of Community Leaders”

NGOs such as Volkshilfe Wien are open (in contrast to highly formalized institutions), show interest in people and their skills, ideas, etc., and offer projects (e.g., tandem project, community leader project). Their working methods are less bureaucratic and give people more freedom to get involved and join forces with others, depending on their resources, skills, and interests. Input from people with migration backgrounds can be taken on board more quickly. In addition to the challenges that arise from inclusion and exclusion, it is also important that people can develop themselves and experience self-efficacy. Volkshilfe creates these opportunities with its projects and thereby explores the potential of a migration society.
