Research period: 3 June 2019 to 23 December 2019

Seestadt Aspern is currently the largest urban development area in Vienna. Over the next few years, a city with 20,000 inhabitants will be created here.

On behalf of MA 50, Department of Housing Research and International Relations, the Institute of Sociology at the University of Vienna is conducting a study on the settlement of Seestadt Aspern. The Competence Center for Social Work KOSAR is involved in this study as a subcontractor.

The aim of the study is to identify the challenges and social dynamics associated with settlement in terms of motives for moving in and settling, residential milieus and living environment, public space and urbanity. As part of the research project, KOSAR is focussing on the public perception of Seestadt Aspern.
