Packaging Technology goes International - PAINT

This page contains automated translations.

Project duration: 1 October 2017 to 30 September 2019

This project aims to increase the international orientation of the part-time Bachelor's degree programme in Packaging Technology. On the one hand, students should be prepared for the increasing internationalisation in their professional fields, but also for the subsequent English-language Master's programme. On the other hand, the range of English-language courses attracts international students, who are seen as a valuable resource for the organisation of teaching.

Another key aspect of the project is the expansion of an international network. This will be used for the organisation of joint courses and seminars, but also for the initiation and implementation of international research projects.

The following project phases will be completed as part of this project:

  • Translation of the specialised courses into English
  • Development of an elective catalogue in English
  • Adaptation of didactic methods and support for teaching staff
  • Establishment of Internationalisation at Home (IaH) in the study programs
  • Expansion of the existing international network

Research Goals

Main objectives:

  • Promotion of students' foreign language skills by expanding the range of courses taught in English
  • Preparing teachers for teaching in English through the Language Centre's Teacher Training Programme
  • Promoting students' international and intercultural skills by embedding IaH in the curriculum
  • Expansion of the network of partner universities in order to increase the number of international students and thus promote diversity on site

Sub-goals:

  • Establishment of a range of English-language courses totalling 60 ECTS credits and English-language elective courses totalling 24 ECTS credits
  • Adaptation of didactic methods in the course of translating courses into English
  • Development and piloting of internationalised teaching and learning environments in the sense of IaH (virtual classroom, international classroom)
  • Final degree of new cooperation agreements with international partner organisations

Non-project goals:

  • A fundamental curricular change to the Bachelor's degree programme "Packaging Technology"
