Project Duration: 01.02.2019 to 31.01.2021
How can packaging systems meet the requirements of the circular economy? The project provides targeted training for employees in the packaging and food industries to develop sustainable, innovative packaging solutions. Through a practice-oriented training program supplemented by e-learning, participants acquire skills in packaging technology, ecodesign, sustainability, and innovation management. The developed content will be permanently integrated into the continuing education offerings at Hochschule Campus Wien making it available to companies and professionals in the long term.
The Circular Economy Package first presented by the European Commission in July 2014 poses new challenges for the entire packaging industry. Products, processes and concepts must be designed in line with the new targets. The aim of the "Packaging Solutions in a Circular Economy" project is the targeted training of employees from the packaging-relevant and food-producing industry in order to strengthen domestic companies in their innovation performance with regard to the sustainable design of packaging systems in the sense of the circular economy.
This goal will be achieved through the planning, implementation and follow-up of a customised 22.5-day training measure accompanied by e-learning, in which the participants will learn about basic aspects of packaging technology, sustainability and circular economy, eco-design and innovation management, as well as development strategies for sustainable and novel packaging solutions and ways to develop new business models.
Once the project has been successfully completed, the entire training programme will be embedded in the Hochschule Campus Wien course portfolio, ensuring the sustainable use of the developed training programme.
