Practical application of anatomical knowledge is a skill that Physiotherapy students should learn during the first semesters. In numerous courses on the Bachelor's degree programme in Physiotherapy, such as the course "Anatomy in vivo" (AIV) in the 1st semester, the focus is on teaching practical skills. Specifically, the aim of the "AIV" course is to enable students to learn, understand and grasp "anatomy in vivo", i.e. to learn to differentiate between a wide variety of anatomical structures by palpation.

The e-learning tool called "AIV LIVE" enables the visualisation of topographical-anatomical knowledge by means of videos and still images created for the individual palpation techniques, including audio commentary, to address different learning paths of the students and is intended to encourage them to practice the content mainly in practice "with external feedback" during self-study.

The tool is used both as an innovative teaching medium in the contact hours and, as already mentioned, is also an important tool for self-study. The TOOL gives students the opportunity to use this tool as often as they like in terms of time, space and individually ("mLearning") and can be used to prepare for examinations and work placements.

It serves as a learning tool and performance assessment. Furthermore, multimedia learning can promote students' self-learning skills and motivation to learn.
