Equal opportunity for everyone and a life together without discrimination are the core values at Hochschule Campus Wien.
Therefore, Hochschule Campus Wien has queer staff and queer students network groups.
Furthermore, there is the option of using a chosen name within the university and the option of specifying one's own pronouns.

Together with LGBTIQ * groups and queer representatives from the ÖH of numerous universities in Vienna, we have set up the university network queer@hochschulen. The LGBTIQ * coordinators at the universities are in constant contact with each other, exchange ideas, organize joint participation in the Rainbow Parade in Vienna, etc.

Students whose gender identity does not correspond with their legal first name and gender entry have the option to change their first name to a chosen name once during their studies. The chosen name will then be used internally at HCW as the student's first name. This includes, among other things, the HCW email address, the Campus Card, and attendance lists.
The legal name will remain stored. The university is legally required to use and transmit the legal name in all cases where it acts as a public authority. This applies, for example, to enrolment confirmations, diploma certificates, the legal processing of student-related data, and the legally binding transfer of student-related data.
Applications are submitted by students via the portal under the menu item ‘Applications’.
New employees can enter their chosen name in the application tool, and it will then be used for their employment contract, email address, contact details on the website, campus card and door signs. Existing employees can request the use of an identity name in the event of a transition by sending an email to the Human Resources department.
Students and applicants can select their pronouns according to their gender identity in the portal or application tool. The pronouns appear next to the first names in attendance lists.
Employees can include their pronouns in their email signature.
