Divide the lectures of one year into two in order to create more time for your individual commitments. Each academic year can be extended by a further year.

Unexpected developments in your life should not lead to you dropping out of your studies. Even during your ongoing studies, you can take advantage of the Flex model.

Studying in the Flex Model

Thanks to clear structures and set curricula, universities of applied sciences enable their students to progress according to plan without additional semesters. Actually, this is a great thing, if life didn't sometimes get in the way. But don't worry: challenging times don't have to lead to dropping out. With our Flex model, you can extend the duration of your studies by taking lectures from one year spread over two years.

completion of military or civilian service
pregnancy and childcare
long-term illness or serious impairment of physical integrity
unforeseen, extensive care obligations of relatives
securing your livelihood, which does not allow you to continue studying at this time
political function, e.g. within the framework of the Austrian Student Union
special professional challenges such as a temporary transfer abroad

Select your current or desired course of study in the following inquiry form and briefly describe your situation.
We will contact you to answer your questions and, if necessary, arrange an appointment for an individual consultation.
You will receive all the information you need to apply for a Flex Model course of study.
Once approved, you will work with your study program or university course director to develop a study plan tailored to your needs. The application is valid for one academic year and can be extended if necessary.

There is no legal entitlement. The prerequisite is a regular and successfully completed admission procedure. Agreements on flexible study plans are only made at the beginning of the program and after the start of studies.
