The Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) deals with applications of new technologies in medical imaging and is offered in the form of a summer school at FH Campus Wien. The content of the BIP includes 3D applications in the field of 3D printing, image processing, visualisation with mixed reality and artificial intelligence for the field of medical imaging. The content is already part of an English-language course in the Radiological Technology study programs and has been offered since 2023 as part of electives for students at FH Campus Wien and for incoming students from the Erasmus Radiography Group network. The BIP has already successfully taken place in this form in 2023.
The contents are current topics and challenges in the professional field of Radiological Technology. This includes the creation of 3D models from medical sectional images, the 3D printing of anatomical structures, the XR visualisation of medical data and the machine analysis of medical image data.
The aim is the application-oriented teaching of new 3D technologies in the radiological field that are not yet covered in the training curricula for radiology technologists. The participants gain knowledge about young, innovative technologies in an international comparison.
